In 2010 I took my first power yoga class when I was home from college. Over time, I have sustained aches, pains, and injuries due to the tightness in my hips. Sitting cross-legged was (and still is) far from comfortable. I tried it because I knew I needed to stretch. That’s it.
I never knew that the powerful flow in a heated room would be my balance, my “counter-pose.” Without foregoing the physicality of a workout that I love, I found that my mat was my sanctuary for a true mind / body transformation. Yoga has helped me to think, feel, & love deeper. To open my heart to new possibilities. To know when to surrender and when to find my edge. Leaving ego, competition, and judgment at the door was the balance I needed to be a better version of my self. Oh, and the stretching is nice too!
So why yoga? Why indoor cycling? Another balance. A balance of power & peace. Between the two, I am sure that you will leave Urban Elements feeling unstoppable and unlimited.
Brittany graduated from Penn State University with a bachelor’s degree in public relations and a minor in business. She completed 200 hours of yoga teacher training in March 2015 through Urban Elements-YogiCop Training School. She is an RYT200 with the Yoga Alliance. She completed Level 1 and Level 2 Training with Baron Baptiste and Paige Elenson and is on the path to Baptiste Certification. She is an AFAA certified personal trainer and earned her RealRyder Indoor Cycling certification in 2014.
